There are moments that matter.
It is the moments that carry varying levels of significance to you, that require your intention.
More than your intention, oftentimes it is what we hold in high-esteem that demand our sacrifice, our pain, and our attention.
Without these elements, you can expect to lose the people, places, and things that those precious moments encompass.
Because without intention, life is fleeting.
Without our energy invested, you can expect your experiences to be temporary.
We can spend our time wishing for the days that could have spanned to years, had we not taken those moments for granted. Had we equally invested in nurturing our environments as much as we enjoyed them. Yet still with hindsight bias, we undervalue the impact of our effort. We failed (and in some cases, continually fail) to recognize that energy withheld, comes at a cost.
The past no longer exists and the future is uncertain.
This maxim might serve as a painful reminder or note of acceptance.
There is a nature that drives the ebb and flow of life.
A nature that weaves itself into the moments we cherish, and the experiences we feel we would have been better off without.
This too shall pass.
It’s easy to think that the hardships will stay and the good times won’t last. Or spend time stressed out about our future, or waste time hung up on our past. Not recognizing that in the here and now, our choices dictate what will leave and what might last. That life does not happen to us, but with us… as it aligns us to our path.
There are no bystanders in this life.
Life demands our participation.
Acknowledgement that seasons do change, and the stages and phases that we go through, we can choose to expend the energy and effort to grow, too.
We can get the most, as we make the most, of this thing called life.
And for the people, places, and things that we hold near and dear to our hearts: dance with the nature that drives the ebb and flow that will keep us bonded to one another. Expend the energy required to safeguard against the nature that drives the ebb and flow that equally seeks to drive us all apart.
Our energy, our effort can turn a moment into a lifetime.
With mindfulness and intention we can make room for the experiences that serve us, and make space for the needed goodbyes.
Life is an ebb and flow that requires us to dance.
And oftentimes we just stand still, forgetting that that there are limitations to chance.
